About My Products
When I design and construct something, my motto has always been: Take the time to make it as though I was
making it for myself.
Standard commercial leather products, although sometimes made of very good leather, most often don’t last a long time because they are stitched with thread not much stronger than clothing thread. You will see that all [everything I sew] is stitched on a saddle machine using T400 & T346 Dacron saddle thread. The fact is, the strongest
man would cut his hands trying to break it!
Because - for some unknown reason – leather factories only sell thin skinny lace., I hand-cut almost all my lace in a variety of widths. Depending on the artistic design of what I am crafting, I use lacing styles such as simple buck lacing and simple crisscross [the only two styles that old mountain men used because that’s all they knew]. These can look beautiful;, however, I use the more difficult styles – such as double buck lacing – to accent collars on vests, coats, etc., and the elegant double and triple cordovans or top plait braid on many items from vests to gun holsters, knife sheathes, purses, wallets – whatever requires a unique lacing style.
Something you should know about all real leather products is that being a skin, it needs oil. I recommend using liquid mink or neatsfoot oil.
Note that all my leather items have been oiled when you receive them. What I make can last you a lifetime if it is oiled every few years.
Last of all, let me say that buying ten pieces of junk will not equal or out-last buying one item of quality, made right! My products are true high-quality leather, and my prices reflect the time I spent making each handmade one right, so most will last you a lifetime. Seeing the real thing is better than photos, so when you receive your order, I believe you will be happy.
All Orders will be shipped out ASAP – I will give you a call and let you know when you can expect to receive it.
I hope you will add my site to your favorites and return often too see what’s new.
